Prerequisite Requirement

Joining details with prerequisites for each individual course will be sent at the time of booking. It is important you take note of those prerequisites for your chosen course as they differ for each. However, there are some generic requirements which are applicable for all courses, as follows:

Over 18 – The minimum age to participate in these courses is 18-years.

Medical Self-Assessment Form –You are required to certify that you are physically and medically fit to attend the course by completing a Medical Self-Assessment Form prior to joining your course and daily thereafter for each day in attendance.

Work Boots – participants are to wear suitable footwear in the form of work boots with ankle support.

Valid Photographic I.D – This can be in the form of a passport or driving licence but must be in date. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a City and Guilds Certificate of Competence which is valid for 3 years

Medium Risk – 2 Days

The City & Guilds Medium risk Confined space course provides the knowledge and skills to safely work in a medium risk environment and includes preparing to work safely, entering, and exiting medium risk confined spaces safely, using equipment and tools safely, following procedures and dealing with emergencies.

By the end of this course, you will have an understanding of:

• Prepare to work safely in medium risk confined spaces
• Enter and exit confined spaces safely
• Prepare and use escape breathing apparatus
• Use equipment and tools safely
• Follow procedures and work safely
• Deal with emergencies
• Use appropriate behaviour for working in medium risk confined spaces
• Use appropriate water industry knowledge for medium risk confined spaces
• Apply relevant water industry standards for working in medium risk confined spaces
