Low Risk – 1 Day

Low risk confined space environments often have entries no deeper than three meters with an unobstructed vertical lift and a straight ladder into a dark chamber.

Delegates will gain practical experience of using fall arrest and retrieval equipment. Tasks will also include appropriate ladder-climbing techniques which will allow for safe access and egress into a confined space.

By the end of this course, you will have an understanding of:

  • What confined spaces are and when confined spaces can be created by work activities.
  • The main hazards and risks resulting from working in confined spaces.
  • The legal responsibilities of employers and others in control of work in confined spaces, as well as a knowledge of the duties placed on other individuals.
  • How to carry out a risk assessment for work undertaken in a confined space.
  • How to implement, supervise and monitor control measures to control the risks associated with work in confined spaces.
  • The necessary emergency procedures for working in confined spaces
