The Institute of Corrosion document which defines the requirements for the operation of the ICATS scheme is called the Req Doc and the latest version (the 15th Edition since the scheme was introduced in 2005) has just been approved.

OPS Welcomes Chris Holden

Offshore Painting Services (OPS) has appointed Chris Holden (pictured) as general manager of its operational base at the Port of Grimsby, as it emerges as a new maintenance hub for North Sea offshore wind farms.

The Liverpool-based group provides industrial painting, training and blade technician services for projects in the UK, Europe and beyond, including Race Bank, Dudgeon and Burbo Bank.

OPS Training add 2 new accreditations

OPS Training were celebrating Christmas early after being awarded 2 new accreditations at its state of the art training centre in Liverpool.

After 3 months of hard work, all was rewarded when they successfully achieved accreditations for both GWO (Global wind Organisation) and IRATA (industrial rope access trade association) accreditations.

This now means that as well as their current iCATS industrial painting courses they can also deliver the full GWO Basic safety training and  IRATA Rope Access training in their new state of the art training centre.
